My 5 year old daughter really wants a scooter for Christmas but is determined it should have 2 wheels, thing is she never really got to grips with the mini micro 3 wheel one that is now too small for her.

Can anyone suggest a 2 wheel version that is easy to use and not too bulky? Are 2 wheel ones a lot trickier?

Thanks!

K

This one is good - http://www.micro-scooters.co.uk/scooters-model-mx-stunt/micro-mx-trixx-scooter-blue-black.html

My 5 year old is speedy on it, and it's an appropriate size. Have to say he was fearless on a three wheeler though - but I think the two wheelers are easier!

Can anyone (snowboarder?) talk me through the merits of 2- or 3-wheel scooters for a 4.5yo? He loves his micro mini so was assuming the maxi would be obvious choice but should I be thinking about a 2-wheeler and what about these cheaper brands Dave R suggests? Argh! thanks for any advice!
A two wheeler is tricker to balance, but if your child is coordinated they catch on quickly and never look back. Mine had a micro sprite 2 wheeler at 4. She's now on a Town 3 from decathalon. I will say this about Decathalon--no problem at all buying spares at reasonable prices - including wheels and brakes!
Bluesuperted - we got eldest sb a maxi micro when he was 4 so his brother could have the mini - and very quickly he decided he wanted a 2 wheeler. We went to a funky little scooter shop in west wickham and they recommended the stunt scooters over things like the micro sprite especially for energetic boys as they are much sturdier - all of the ones that fold have an inherent weakness in them....and whilst Z is hardly doing huge tricks on his he certainly puts it through its paces at 5.5. His younger brother now wants one too (at 3.5!) and can balance fine on it. I like the Micro scooter stunt version as it's quite good proportions. And I can have a go on it!
