After struggling to find anyone who could help us with a complicated heating problem we just an absolutely brilliant service from Paul at Dulwich Plumber Limited. The job turned out to be more complex than he anticipated but he stuck to his initial quote nonetheless and provided us with great advice on the different options and parts. Would highly recommend.

And I too am only too happy to leave a recommendation here for Paul/Dulwich plumber limited on the excellent job he did for us on our rental flat on Ondine Road. We were told by the first plumber we got out - to deal with a blocked kitchen sink and temperamental hot water tap initially - that we also needed to get a plumber that was sufficiently specialised in dealing with lead items to repair and/or replace a cracked lead waster pipe that had also been identified.

We needed to get this sorted pronto as it would have been unfair to have the tenants being unable to use the kitchen for too long. Being remote (we now live in Notts) it is always with a degree of trepidation that you have to find a new plumber - for what was always going to be and turned out to be a fairly costly job. However, Paul was up-front with us from the word go and, as well as doing a very good job, was fair with us throughout.

We agreed a capped fee for the job and, despite the job taking 4-5 hours, Paul came in just under.

Based on our experience I would be minded to use Paul again and would recommend him to others

What a legend. Paul has just come over to look at our broken radiator-within an hour and a half of me calling him. He told me there would be no charge for his estimate-turned out the issue was a simple one and he fixed it within 5 mins and wouldn't accept any payment. Lovely bloke and obviously knows his stuff. Heartily recommend!

Thank you so much Paul!

Our central heating developed a fault and we had resorted to using (very expensive)electric heating in the recent chilly weather. Having read this thread my wife called Paul at Dulwich Plumber a few days ago. He arrived the next day as arranged, quickly diagnosed the fault and got our heating working within about 10 or 15 minutes. He would not accept payment there and then but arranged to return as soon as he had obtained the parts to effect a permanent solution.

I couldn't help thinking it must be quite rewarding for a capable tradesman like him to arrive at a chilly home and leave shortly afterwards knowing that his customers were enjoying a warm home again.

Paul is a polite and very likeable person and I recommend his services to anyone in East Dulwich requiring help with their plumbing/heating.

I would like to recommend Paul at Dulwich Plumber. He came over today to fix our central heating after it developed some sort of fault while away on holiday (came home to a freezing house, 12C, lovely..). Paul is a very nice guy, polite and obviously what he's doing. House lovely and warm now, one very happy customer :-)

We have used Paul at Dulwich Plumber for several jobs and have always found him to be very efficient and quick to respond when we contact him. We'd certainly recommend him and as other reviewers have found he's always honoured his quotes, even when the job has taken longer than expected. Most recently he was able to fix a broken toilet flush in two minutes and he was kind enough not to charge us for the job.

Highly recommended if you need a competent plumber at short notice.

November last year we decided to replace the radiators in our bathrooms with plumbed in heated towel rails and Paul had been recommended to us. He got in touch very quickly after I emailed him, and arranged to come to the house to assess what was needed. He subsequently researched the model options for us (there was a baffling choice many not the right size or electric not plumbed)and after we chose what we liked from his email Paul bought the towel rails in store/ stored them until we arranged a day for fitting/ transported them to the house/ fitted them in speedily..... and did a superb job. Not only was the service fantastic the charge was very reasonable. Lovely bloke and obviously knows his stuff. Heartily recommend!

Thank you so much Paul!

Used Dulwich Plumber to replace my boiler last week. Paul provided a quote the same day, was up front about all the costs and very helpful with selecting the best option. Job was completed efficiently and he also helped resolve a number of other issues whilst completing. All in all great service and price and would highly recommend.

Today Paul replaced two old and under-sized radiators for me. I'm delighted with the service he provided (at a reasonable price!) and how tidy he left everything after he was finished.

The house is much warmer!

I thoroughly recommend Dulwich Plumbers and plan to have Paul back for a couple more jobs.

We used Paul of Dulwich Plumber Ltd a couple of weeks ago when we had a leaking valve of a dual fuel heated towel rail. He was excellent: professional, clean , efficient and good value for money. He also has a very clear and informative website which was a bonus, as well a taking payment by card. We will definitely use him again.

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
