Hi East Dulwich!

I offer one-on-one tuition for sewing beginners starting from the very basics of getting to know your sewing machine to following a pattern.

I can tailor make a tuition for you, whether you want to make some festive Christmas stockings or a fab, homemade costume for the little ones! The tuition can be at your home or in my home studio, where you can learn a domestic machine and over locker. Or alternatively bring your machine with you and get to grips with your own!

Feel free to bring a sewing pattern of your choice to learn or alternatively learn from a basic pattern supplied.

I also offer an embroidery service, personalising any item of clothing or fabric with a name or picture of your choice.

I am based just off Lordship Lane, Bawdale Road. I have worked in the fashion and costume industry for over 10 years, working in busy workrooms such as Pinewood studios making for large scale films.

  There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
