Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) reopens on Wednesday 10th December 2014

Recommended Posts

From 9am on Wednesday the scheme will be open to new applicants looking for help with the cost of installing energy saving measures such as solid wall insulation, double glazing, boilers, cavity wall and floor insulation amongst others*.

The government has only set aside a total of ?30 million in vouchers this quarter. Once the funding has been used up applications will no longer be accepted, so customers need to act quickly.

Domestic energy customers can now receive:

? up to ?4,000 for installing solid wall insulation;

? up to ?1,000 for installing two measures from an approved list;

? up to ?100 refunded for their Green Deal Assessment;

? up to ?500 more if applying within 12 months of buying a new home.

To complete the application:

? Householders simply need to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), or Green Deal Advice Report (GDAR) that is less than 2 years old

? Householders need to obtain and submit a quote for the works to be completed in order to apply for a voucher

? Proof of property ownership (for landlords/undertakings only)

We are a local business based in and around East Dulwich and Peckham, contact us at [email protected] if you require an updated EPC, or a quote for installation of the energy efficient measures. Please state your name, full address and the measures you are interested in installing.

*List of available measures:

1) Cavity wall insulation

2) Condensing mains gas boiler

3) Secondary glazing

4) Double/triple glazing (replacement single glazing)

5) Flat roof insulation

6) Replacement warm air unit

7) Fan-assisted storage heaters

8) Energy efficient replacement doors

9) Floor insulation

10) Room-in-roof insulation

11) Waste water heat recovery

**For solid wall insulation 67% of the costs of installation up to a maximum of ?4,000 can be claimed back by the customer. For the ?two measures? option 100% of the costs of installation to a maximum of ?1,000 may be claimed back. Customers who have purchased the property to be improved within the last 12 months may be eligible for an additional ?500 home buyers bonus. A rebate towards the cost of a Green Deal Advice Report is subject to a successful voucher application, the installation of the eligible measures through the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund and compliance with the scheme terms and conditions.

    • tried the traditional beef empanada yesterday and it was amazing honestly, hotter and better than the other place (no offence!). I really don’t see the issue with having more than one of the same type of shop – we’ve got Indian restaurants, two supermarkets, two cheese shops, two pizza joints, even two paint shops! So I don’t get what all the fuss is about. Good food is good food, and there’s room for everyone.

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!
