Calling South East London beer lovers...

We were going to kick off our regular tasting events in the new year, but due to popular demand (hurrah!), we thought we'd try to squeeze an event in before Christmas. This Thursday evening from 7pm you're invited to a Stone Brewing Co. tasting as we welcome Stone beers to our shelves.

Stone Brewing Co. has an amazing reputation for unique, outstanding beers, while not forgetting about the important stuff such as sustainability, business ethics, philanthropy and the fine art of brewing. A very limited number of super-fresh Stone beers have just been made available in the UK and on Thursday, you'll be able to taste five of these, including superstar brews such as the Ruination IPA and the Arrogant Bastard Ale as well as Stone's latest release, the Stochasticity Project Master of Disguise, a so-called imperial golden stout brewed with coffee beans, cocoa and coffee beans. (No, that's not a typo.)

Due to numbers and the size of our small shop, tickets are limited and must be pre-booked. They're just ?15 and available in store at 38 East Dulwich Rd, SE22 9AX or via the below link. Event attendees will also get 10% off any purchases made on the night. Hope to see you Thursday for a fun and informal night of great beers. :)

A quick update - we've decided to move this event to January to ensure everyone who wanted to come is able to attend without things like, you know, Christmas getting in the way. ;) Please stay tuned for a new date ASAP and apologies for any inconvenience. You can get your hands on Stone beers in-store before then though - they're due in tomorrow (fingers crossed) so do pop in...

    • I have to say, I too am upset about the passing of DulwichFox. He was a real local character, who unlike me, managed to stick with ED despite all of the nauseous yuppification of the last three decades. R.I.P to foxy    Louisa.
    • How long is a piece of string? AI was a bit rubbish on this one, but Checatrade : average cost to paint a house exterior is around £30 per square metre So depends on the size, access, time to put up scaffolding and cost of hiring and building that, surface preparation, and quality of materials.   Checkatrade put it at £2.5 k for average semi, that sounds a little cheap.
    • Wow what a lot of reactionary stuff going on here.  Even by the high bar set by others on the EDF. So let's start with the title.  I thought wrong season for leaves on the pavement.  A bit late for ice, but it can still happen.  We all know about uneven pavements and tree roots.  Oh my word, perhaps Zombie apocalypse or sink holes.  Those damned Lime bikes?  But no, a four year old. The streets are rightly or wrongly full of kids scooting and cycling to schools in the morning.  Would or could a four year old cause a serious injury hitting an adult, perhaps but unlikely.  I'd rather a child on two wheels on the pavement than a car driving them to school. As said we are judging this on the original post.  We were not there.  We can not speculate. How this is victim (were you really a victim?) blaming, I don't know. How my response, similar to the previous two, is revolting, heavens knows. There is a serious conversation to be had about middle class parents.  My they can be annoying. And similarly for teenagers, adults, in particularly illegal ebikes including delivery riders, on the pavements, There are threads on the latter on here already.   But a four year old?  Really?? PS off to watch Newsnight and some more serious matters.
