Recommendation for fireplace replacement

Hi there,

I am looking to have my fireplace replaced and have no idea where to start!

I currently have a Gas fireplace (which doesn't work and is hideous), but have a chimney so option for a wood burning fire is a possibility.

Is anyone able to advise me on:

the level of work required to remove and replace a fireplace?

The cost of removing a fire place?

The various coatings of replacing with a gas fine vs a wood burning fire?

Any companies to recommend?
