Nigel will be well known to many of you as he is ? happily for us ? a regular visitor to our Singarounds and club nights. He also supported John Otway at The Ivy House in January 2014.

We are delighted that he will be our first Goose headliner of 2015!

Nigel of Bermondsey will be playing with his band, GentleFolk, tonight. GentleFolk are Nigel Of Bermondsey, Elizabeth Forrester, Ian Kennedy & Sarah Lloyd.

?A pastoral mix of voice, string, woodwind, guitar & drum to lull & to stir?.

Is that a threat or a promise?! (only joking, you were great last time)

We're expecting a full-ish house tonight - and the amazing Stick in the Wheel are coming to do a floorspot, assuming they can get through the Blackwall Tunnel in time :))

PS You could bring the sink (joke).

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
    • Paul Sinha said the other day that Auf Wiedersehen Pet is the German version of Animal Hospital.
