lovelyrita
Nimble Arts are piloting a couple of afternoon sessions for parents/carers with pre-walking babies that give parents a chance to learn, or develop creative skills, do something a little different to the normal 'wheels on the bus' baby classes (whilst we love these sessions too!) and make new friends in a baby safe environment. Classes will be led with enough time and space for all things baby-related, but these will be classes for the adults to do, led by experienced artists/practitioners, rather than toddler craft sessions. We're piloting two sessions this half term with the lovely Hannah from Art Market London - tickets are very strictly limited and you need to sign up in advance so we can make sure we have materials in. You can book in advance online at http://nimblearts.co.uk/?page_id=1033 or find out more by emailing [email protected]. Classes are ?12 (or two Nimble Tots classes stamps if you have one of our 6 class card - http://nimblearts.co.uk/?page_id=421 - works out as ?9) for the full 1.5 hours, and this includes all specialist materials, as well as biscuits aplenty and a cuppa tea!DATES:Wednesday 21st January, 2 - 3.30pm: DrawingThe session will explore tone and proportions using familiar objects, a chance to get creative with drawing materials on paper in a relaxed environment.Wednesday 4th January, 2 - 3.30pm: DecoupageThe session will involve learning how to decoupage your chosen object - be it a letter or animal. A chance to learn a new craft which will allow you to take a piece home perfect for the home or nursery, and we'll be in touch before the class to make sure we've the perfect item for you! We're hoping to launch more regular sessions in the summer term if we get enough interest, and we would really love to hear your thoughts and ideas of any other classes parents during maternity leave might like to do, and what sort of times of the day would be best - we're very much testing the water at the moment, but this really sprung from my time on maternity leave when I needed a few things to stretch my own brain, but in a relaxed environment where I could feed and change my yowling daughter and be forgiven for being a little sleep deprived and befuddled! There are already brilliant singing (we love hummy mummies!) and photography classes on offer, but on our ideas board for the summer are...* Ukulele classes for beginners* Life drawing* Stand up comedy classes If these sound of interest (or if there's something else), we'd love to know! lovelyrita
Thanks Nunheadfamily - we're going to be experimenting with a few new classes, so keep an eye out for after your course finishes :)If anyone is thinking of joining us this week, do make sure you book in by this Friday so that we can make sure we've got the right about of equipment! You can book online at http://nimblearts.co.uk/?page_id=1033 - if you have a Nimble Tots flexi-card, you can use this for your space so it works out at just ?9 for the session (and use the other four to pop along to our story sessions, join another Crafternoon, or bop along at our Indiepop tots disco on the 22nd February). As mentioned, this is a pilot, and I'd love to know if you have any other ideas for crafty/creative/arty activities for parents and carers to do whilst on parental leave, that you can bring your tots along too. Any thoughts on timings and venues would be gratefully received too! Thanks for the messages so far :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/52952-tomorrow-bring-your-baby-for-a-drawing-daytime-class-for-parents-with-very-tiny-tots/#findComment-813504 Share on other sites
