Twelfth Day, The Old Nun's Head, 15 Nunhead Lane, SE15 3QQ. ?7, Doors 7.45pm

Floorspots welcome

Twelfth Day are fiddle player Catriona Price and harpist Esther Swift. They both sing ? often in unison, creating a new voice that is neither one nor the other. They both write ? together, weaving traditional folk with classical elements to create a music that?s outside of genre. Lyrically they combine their own experiences, inspirations and dreams, informed by musical travels around the globe and their upbringings in Orkney and the Scottish Borders. They are inseparable.

Their newest album The Devil Makes Three brings together everything these women have heard and learned, over many years of playing and studying, to form a musical statement about who they are. The record surprised and thrilled broadsheet music critics and the folk press alike.

?21st century art music for trad fans.? ? fRoots

?Refreshing, creative and original.? ? Folk London

    • A friend of mine was into "skill swap" about 40 years ago. It wasn't within an organised scheme, she just offered services like help with painting in exchange for services received. She upset some people as they carried out their services for a living, I.e. for money. An organised scheme sounds much better.
    • Gosh, that is a blast from the past.  Friends in York were into this, he was an accountant and had things like decorating done in exchange.  Not sure if it was equivalent in terms of hours, and I recall HMRC being interested as it was a way of tax avoidance.   A link for a London wide scheme but have no idea of its popularity: https://www.londonwide.letslink.org/members/index.php
    • Is anyone else having problems trying to register their car for a residents LTN permit for upland road as the council web site only seems to want to allow blue badge holders a permit .
    • Posted around 12 cards 2 weeks prior to 24th December. Had some responses so know people have received them. Had about 20 cards - mixture of hand delivered and via post. After years of 'nagging' by myself and our daughters, we may have cured hubby of spending £4 plus on individual cards for our immediate family  ( when you have 12 immediate family it costs a bomb) Also as the girls state, they get put in the recycling bad at beginning of January regardless of cost.
