I note that K&C aren't removing them (which would add to destructive parking habits), just making the two hours free in order to allow people local shopping access, but not making it convenient overspill parking for commuters.

Which are the pay and display zones you want changing to give two free hours?

I understand that the K&C one is to combat the free parking at Westfield? Is there a new scheme that threatens this area also?

,,,,hugenot do you work for a meter company or something..

ANECTDOTALLY....which I know you hate...

I live in Fellbrigg Road....with the exception of Saturday am parking isn't a problem...it's just not needed

Where there are parking restrictions you get the joy of tickets adminsutered after 6 mins in a 5 min spot outside a nursery as happened to my missus last week

You get tickets falsley given - which I have personally have happened twice and managed to get overturned...this involves appealing in the face of ever threatening letters and escaalating fines and finally having it dropped if you say you are willing to go to court with witnesses...you get no recompense, or even an apolgy from Southwark, forthe stress and inconvenience of all this which is in effect challenging an illegal action on their behalf.

Friends/relatives visiting fromout of town......nowhere to park or getting up at 8am and moving the car and then doing this every 2 hours until 6pm....yeah, thank's for letting us stay.

If your permit is deemed to be illegaly placed KERCHING...more money for Southwark to spend Diversity Monitors at ?40K a year..

Plus we are entering a recession and rather than ignore traders who have experienced this in Peclham/HH and Greenwich and 'risk' that restrictions will cause no problem for traders on the Lane (after all we have no evidence)let's not give them another burden in hard times.

Finally, I hate to bring it up, but you, not quite on yor own, but certainly most vocally, keep questioning any of us who fight parking in SE22, when you have no intention of ever returning and won't have to face closed shops and parking nazi's eagerly waiting at the end of our roads at 7.59am.

I have to say one of the joys of living where I do is that my local area is free to park for 2 hours, so all shopping is catered for.

There are several parades of Shops (Sherwood Parade, The Green and THe Oval) where it is always free and I can, literally, park outside my local Co-op supermarket by the entrance.

Would hate the hassle of Traffic Nazi's.

I always try to make the point, TLS, that I'm not for or against parking restrictions, but I do note that there are often good arguments that favour some restrictions bthat go unheard. I just like to keep their head above water ;-)

I also note that those arguments against parking restrictions are often disingenuous and misrepresent the facts. As I've said before, 50mph restrictions on the M25 make journeys faster not slower, and managing parking in ED may make traders more successful - at the expense of the freeloaders.

On this one... PR was complimenting K&C on providing 2 hours free parking. K&C haven't removed parking restrictions, just made them free.

ED doesn't seem to have any equivalent parking restrictions that could be made free, so I wondered what she was referring to?

I'm a motorcyclist so apart from in Westminster on Sundays all bike parking is free.

But I do care about car drivers and local shops survival, and the horror stories I read on places like this forum saying how fascist parking attendants ticket people picking up their kids one minute over the time. That sort of thing.

K&C apparently are doing this because of the free parking offered by Westfield.

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
