I currently have a full time nanny but next year littlest one going to school full time. Does anyone have luck finding a good afterschool nanny who can do five days a week from 3 to 7:30 and then some holidays? I am getting worried I won't be able to find someone long term but then I can't keep my current nanny and school fees as well. What type of people are afterschool nanny only? Are there any agencies which specialize in this? All thoughs and advice welcome. Thanks

It's very tricky, as the hours required will not earn nannies/au pairs much money and also breaks up their day and any chance of another job :(

Could a TA or childminder do pick ups for you? Some childminders do offer these services.

We found ours through childcare.com but this is a generic childcare website not one specialising in after school. I would recommend posting in the classifieds section here and on the childcare websites. Dulwich childcare may also be able to help if you contact them.

Good luck!

We found a lovely after school nanny after advertising on here. She'd recently retired, and was therefore happy with the reduced hours, and is fantastic with the children - they love her. It's worth advertising on here anyway. Or you could try Dulwich childcare who seem good. Good luck!!

    • There seems to be a change in the reception staff - did not recognise a couple of them when I last visited.  Not sure whether one of the long term staff has retired as not seen her for a while.  Used on line facility as my podiatrist recommended antibiotics for a toe infection and also took photo of my toe which I attached yo my request. Got a message back within a day to say medication ordered from chemist.

    • Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.
