Train station building work

Does anyone know what's going on with the building work at the former garden centre/gallery next to the train station?

Nothing seems to have happened for ages

Local hearsay suggests the builders pulled out, possibly with some of the investors. There were problems demolishing the Victorian station waiting room which was part of the garden centre (to the left of the entrance). This is quite delicate and tricky and might require closing the station - which Network Rail don't want to do. Strange they didn't think about that in the nine years they've been planning this ...

I've also hear the work will start 'in a couple of weeks'. Hmm.
