St James's Swimming Club looking for new members.

Recommended Posts

St James's Swimming Club has been around in East Dulwich since 1878. It is run by volunteers and offers coaching and training sessions to children which must be able to swim at least a length (we do not do learn to swim sessions). Adults also welcome to join in! We meet twice a week, Thursday evenings at Dulwich College and Sunday mornings at Alleyn's. Check out the details at www.sjsc.org.uk. You can come along any Sunday for a trial swim - you'll have to pay the session fee (?3 pp) but not membership if you decide not to join (membership is ?25 under 17, ?50 adults). Look forward to seeing you ...
I see this post has been moved to the 'Businesses' section of the forum. Fair enough but I would just like to make it plain that St James's is a club, run by unpaid vounteers. Membership and fees go to paying for ASA membership, bath hire and so on.

    • Dog kennel isn't a great name for a school. I agree that it's ridiculous for the name to put anyone off going there, but don't see any issue with them rebranding if the parents and children prefer a new name. The school is surrounded by historical 'groves' (reflected in the names of Camberwell Grove, Grove park and Grove Vale for example), so it's not a totally random name.
    • It might help if there are body cams to record evidence and a presence maybe a deterrent but I very much doubt a park warden would intervene with obnoxious and violent thugs - children or not. We need police for that.
    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
