Is there a way to delete a thread by the person who started it?

Is there a way to delete a thread by the person who started it? I am thinking in particular when you have offered something for sale and then sold it - to stop further enquires.

You can click EDIT POST underneath the original post and change the title to NOW SOLD or whatever
