Recommendation for local plumber - bathroom installation

Recommended Posts

Hi, been meaning to recommend the plumber that did our bathroom for a while. We were really thrilled with the work Jim from Newbrook plumbing and heating (0208 8573413) did installing our bathroom. To start with, out of three builders his quote was the most competitive. Before starting the job, He thoroughly checked all the bathroom fixtures we'd ordered when they were delivered, to ensure everything was ready to go. He was also really attentive to detail and every morning, before work started, carefully went through any queries(e.g where light sockets would go/placement of taps, tile arrangement etc) to make sure he did it exactly as we wanted. He also organised other tradesmen - like the electrician - to do any additional work and sourced items like the extractor fan and spotlights at good prices with receipts for everything. He even did an emergency trip out to the tile shop to pick up some more tiles as it turned out we hadn't ordered enough! The final product was really high quality and to top it off he was an incredibly nice bloke to work with!

I'd like to 2nd the above recommendation for Newbrook Plumbing and heating. Jim Has carried out numerous jobs for me over the last 8 years, ranging from Bespoke bathrooms, underfloor heating installations, Boiler and Mega flow installations and complete House heating and plumbing systems.

I have always found him and his team easy to get on with and their work is always carried out to a high standard. They are always there when they say they will be and have never let me down on any of the projects we have carried out in the past. He is very reasonably priced and his knowledge and attention to detail is 2nd to none.

They also do emergency call outs 7 days a week!!

    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
