I am writing to recommend my childminder and her lovely setting in Peckham Rye/Nunhead (near the Rye Pub). Her name is Sultana and she looks after the children with her husband Shah. They can have up to 6 children in their care, so it is a fun environment in a home setting. They go on regular outings to playgroups, do lots of singing and stories, arts and crafts.. She is very concerned with their individual development and has helped us out so much through various development phases (e.g I could not have coped with potty training without her help!)

In the summer they have use of a lovely garden with a slide and a paddling pool, bubble machines and music. Every day is like a party! Both Sultana and Shah are so caring and are genuinely really fond of the children. They have home cooked food everyday which my son loves- and he is a fussy eater!

My son has been there since he was 9 months old, and Sultana really helped with the settling in process when I returned to work after maternity leave. He is now 3 and is ready to move on to nursery in a month but we are so sad to say goodbye!

Sultana has immediate vacancies and spaces coming available in the coming months, so give her a call or an email if you'd like to pop round and see her.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
