We are looking for a Nanny

Recommended Posts

Based in Herne Hill/North Dulwich, we are a friendly family looking

for a nanny to look after our happy 5 year old daughter and 2.5 year old son.

We require a live out professional nanny for a full time role for 5-days a week Monday to Friday, although we can usually take at least one or two days off during the month, and offer some baby sitting (if wanted). The core hours are 8 am - 7pm ? so usually at least 48 hours per week with additional regular over-time.

The current job is temporary. We are looking for someone to start immediately until September. From then the role will change to part time as our son starts nursery school hours in September - so it would suit someone looking for a temporary role until then - or someone who is happy to go part-time then or consider an after school nanny or nanny/housekeeper role around 20/30 hours per week.

You must be caring, trustworthy, reliable and fun / proactive. Your

key duties will include nurturing our childen?s learning and

development and making their days fun within a structured, creative and

safe environment (playing, singing, reading, crafts, park and playgroup trips). Preparing healthy food for them and keeping the kitchen, living area and their bedrooms, bedding, toys and clothing in order. Our daughter is at school full time so it includes school pick ups, after school activities and playdates.

We do have a regular cleaner twice a week, but some housekeeping duties/shopping are required. This includes supermarket/online shopping for the family shop, emptying and stacking the dishwasher, folding away our washing and general tidying up.

You must be a non-smoker, have fluent English and be energetic and

resourceful, experienced in childcare, with CRB clearance (or willing to undertake it) and at least 2 checkable references. Ideally we would like someone who lives locally to us.

If you fit this description, please email your CV and a covering

letter with checkable references your home address and phone number.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
