Recommendation for Silvano - driving instructor

Silvano has asked me to write a review here, so hello to everyone else on the forum!

You can contact Silvano here: http://www.freeindex.co.uk/profile%28silvano%29_270165.htm

After failing 10 tests over eight years and trying out my luck four different test centres with numerous driving instructors, I thought I would never be able to drive. It was immensely frustrating and I was filled with shame at not having passed after so many attempts. It was a real psychological burden to me.

My girlfriend found Silvano online after seeing the reviews here. With Silvano, I passed first time with him (on the hardest possible route on the West Wickham driving test - west on the A2022 and then north up Gravel Hill). After this I can say all the brilliant reviews here are fully justified. The driving examiner even complimented me on the quality of my driving, saying the three errors I received had literally just been in the last few minutes of the test.

The reason why I passed with Silvano is that he had managed to see the errors I had been making that had led me to fail my previous tests. He spotted every single thing I did wrong and provided feedback on it. Importantly, he spotted that I had not been scanning the road as much as I should have done. When I needed to stretch my skills, he took me to challenging roads in Croydon to make sure I could perform under the stress of the test.

Needless to say, Silvano was always on time, polite, professional and even made efforts for me to do lessons early in the morning before I started work. Also note that he has the highest official grade for an Approved Driving Instructor which only a very small percentage of driving instructors have.

To use the DSA cliche, Silvano has very much given me a skill for life. For this, I will always be grateful for his help and give him my fullest recommendation. After so many attempts, I doubt you will find an instructor this good anywhere else in London.

Thanks again Silvano!

    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
    • Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me.    What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….
    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
