The perfect "Day" has just, officially, ended.

Woke up early and saw a Duck sitting in the middle of my lawn (a first in 25 years, even though a 180acre Park complete wuth Lake is 75 yards away). To my delight there was a Duck and Drake sitting contently together, next door, and I took some pictures. I saw the Lady next door smiling at me, as she was witnessing the same.

"Our" Duck was feeling like a Gooseberry, poor thing...

Then we had a great day out in The Country, despite the weather, visiting an excellent Country hostelry and I returned to Win some filthy lucre on-line.

Took the Dogs for a great walk and we bumped into other owners and went round in a Westie "Pack" and not one of the dogs wanted to go home.

Manwhile, Ladyfriend cooked the rare "feast" of Seafood that I randomly bought, including various types of fish that I had not had for years. Delicious.

Off to West London to the Casino and we had a good, enjoyable and successful night where you are even "allowed" to park on the Double Yellow Lines right outside the place, opposite The Natural History Museum in South Kensington in Cromwell Road.

35 minutes to drive home to Kent and not ready to go to bed just yet....

Screw The "Good Old Dayz"..."2009" is where its at, you get me ....:)-D

Here's to the next one....

When was your last perfect day in this Country?

Now you have given me a real dilemma KK!

My live-in, Jamaican Ladyfriend always says "Country" as in "he's from Country" and, inevitably, sometimes, the immediacy of this everyday usage rubs off on me, as in this case.

However, I have just been informed that there has just been a complaint that as I'm not, personally, Black, that I must not "parody" their street talk (even though it is URBAN talk that I was parodying ) used by the Yoof, sorry The Youth, of all Racial Groups these days, as most Public Transport journeys in Londonwill testify (which the complainant fails to realise)....sigh...

They, obviously, do not move in these circles as much as I do.

Now I was brought up to say "Countryside" so, on balance, THAT is the word I should have used, so Countryside it is....

p.s. Sorry it was such a mission to get to that stage KK...:))

I've just reviewed my post, immediately above this one and realised I have used "mission" instead of "circuitous journey" so apologies there, all-round.

Off back to Room 101 now as I'm obviously in need of more corrective treatment....NURSE.....

....Did I, ever, tell you about the time I visited my M8 Steve in Haywards Heath and his Sister wanted me to discover the delights of "Country Customs" which involved sharing her bed "Bob"...B)

Well Done Tony--I have reviewed this post and there's not a single blemish (Not even "Sistren" for "Sister") so keep up the good work !!--Ed.

If you insist Bobster...Stivvi Marble was bigger than me and so thats one Country Custom I had to forego...

I was going to respond to Sean's "ry" comment but realised in an innocent playful attempt I would have offended even more so wiv the remaining letters. I do so humbly apologise!

Why have I bothered to post anyway? Well, sometimes I do own up to my own stupidity and blondeness. I may possibly have offended anyway by my suggestion... oopsy! ;-)

    • There’s a couple of Gov petitions going on in relation to fireworks at the moment but this one is for banning them entirely except organised displays if anyone wants to sign. This is the only sensible way forward in my view. No one should be able to let them off in gardens or anywhere like that, it’s crazy. I am surprised some of you have said it hasn’t been as bad this year. I live near DKH Saino and it’s been absolutely terrible my way for days. This petition gained about 20,000 just in the last day or so so clearly the appetite is there! https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/732559
    • I'd have thought they could use some of  their income from hiring out a large part of Brockwell Park in the summer (therefore, as I understand it, preventing local residents from using much of it) to put on a firework display there  in the autumn which might somewhat make up to those residents for the previous loss of use of the park. And also generate goodwill.
    • Clicking on your name, I see you've made seven posts on here since you joined  around four years ago, and they've all been about local libraries. And none of the posts are  very pleasant. Care to share with the rest of us where  your particular interest in libraries comes from? Do you work in one of them?
