Seanie Baby didn't mention that lil detail whenhe was extolling their virtues to me earlier:X

One and Half "Balloons" a Month??????....I'm not Richard Bleedin' Branson...

I opened an account with the Co-op recently. Firstly they rejected me saying there was an issue on my credit rating which they did not bother looking into. I paid ?7 or something to Experien to find out why, and I successfully challenged it because the issue is I don't and won't have a credit card which obviously made me out to be a highly suspicious and unsafe individual. The Co-op then opened me an account. You can pay in cheques at any Post office. But to get back to the point of the thread - when you phone them (direct to my branch at Lewisham) you do speak to a human being and they are helpful. And it's the Co-op innit.

Don't knock Sean, it's a pretty recent change - existing customers (pre Feb this year) don't get stung if they have more than one product with the company. I have savings accounts and a credit card I pay off in full each month (their interest rates aren't cheap enough you'd use their cards if you wanted to carry a balance).

Actually reading on if you can maintain an average balance of ?1,500 you are ok too so if you had some savings to chuck in the account up front you could get away with paying less in each month.

There’s also a step up into Maria’s - much smaller but you need to negotiate the step and door at the same time. Olivelli has more room and if I remember right the toilets are on the ground floor. A consideration if steps are an issue The Lordship might be an option. Noise is not usually an issue. We’ve enjoyed various meals there. The ladies toilets are on the same floor as the tables (the gents may be upstairs). The staff are always friendly
