The Castle

Has anyone been to The Castle pub on Crystal Palace Road? What's it like and is it worth a visit? I read that it has live music but not sure if this is still the case.

Have walked past many times but was too scared to go in. Looks like the sort of place where everyone would stop talking if a non-regular walked in. Tumbleweed! I reckon you should try the CPT instead, but tell us what the Castle is like if you dare to go in...

I have been in the Castle a few times, as it was the only place showing Celtic on the telly at the time. In all honesty there is not really anything that I could recomend about it. It is the sort of place where things stop if you are not a regular. It is in a dreadful state - huge cracks in the walls, slashes in the seats and toilets which a third world country would condemn. Ive never taken my wife there and wouldnt be in there after nine but then again horses for courses as they say.

I've been in once. The conversation did indeed stop, albeit briefly. I haven't been back. Plenty of other places nearby.
