After-school childcare from September

Recommended Posts

hi there

From September I am looking for a nanny, childminder or babysitter who could pick up my 4-year-old daughter who will be starting Reception at The Belham Primary School on Bellenden Road in Peckham. You would have to collect her at 3.15 on school days and walk her round the corner to our place (or go somewhere more fun!) and cook supper for her and look after her till I get home at 6pm. I will be working three days a week till half term when I will then go full time. Three of those days there is the possibility that a schoolfriend of hers will be with her. We would hope to be able to split the fee between us on those days even if it's more.

If you're interested, do PM me.

Thanks so much for your time, Lydia

Hi there my name is Lyla and I am looking for after-school work with young children as I am a teacher of adults. I work for Lewisham and live in East Dulwich, I am a driver. I teach adults to be wannabe early years' professionals. I have DBS references, I can be flexible, I do not smoke and I like working with children from 3 plus. I have also worked in family learning and have lots of experience.

    • The other side of P13 drivers being risk averse is that I  have been on P13s at night that speeded (?sped?) down Underhill Road so fast I seriously thought they might crash.
    • Some P13 drivers appear very risk averse. I live in Underhill and on that road drivers are forced to back away, often considerable distances, from buses to allow them to pass, even when the bus has an immediate space it could back into. The driver at the time said that buses 'weren't allowed to back'. So reports of cars 'blocking' P13s might mean simply that the car was legally parked but the road too narrow,or the bus driver not prepared to risk advancing. NB some P13 drivers are both skilled and courteous, but not all.
    • I’ve experienced the same in Herne Hill. It’s definitely linked to where there are already marked bays, it prevents you from parking within approx 200-400 metres around the bay. Dulwich Village has quite a few bays, which probably explains why you’ve noticed it there and not elsewhere.
