I've been away for two years and went to make an appointment with my former GP at the Garden's surgery and was told that I was struck off their list as my address (Bellenden Road) is no longer in their catchment. So much for NHS choice.

I have two questions:

1) Do people know if there is any way to overturn this decision? I liked this doctor and would like continuity of care, as I have a complicated medical history.

2) If not, what surgeries do people recommend near Bellenden Road?

I had a similarly frustrating experience with the Gardens and felt I'd been treated v badly - in my case I moved temporarily from one end of Nunhead Lane to the other, before moving back again - literally 3/4months - and was removed from their list. Despite being told of course that's fine..

I may be cynical but I was also experiencing a complicated medical period and felt sceptical as to their reasons for removing me.

I suspect it may also be because you haven't been for two years; I believe GP surgeries are now able to remove you from their list if you dont' use them and/or confirm the registration for two years.

I moved to Nnhead Surgery which is brilliant but a bit far for you maybe. Sorry I can't help more..

    • Another recommendation for Adam on the Dartmouth Road. Have been going there for years. I will never go anywhere else (unless I move home to somewhere far away!) No faff, very reasonal price and nice atmosphere 👍
    • Thanks so much I’ll try that too… might still try getting hold of an air purifier as well if at all possible - want to try cover all bases!
    • The 185 is often the same. But that's why buses sometimes (and annoyingly) stop to "regulate the service". To be fair, it's often due to traffic conditions. If there is not much traffic, the one behind catches up with the one in front.
    • I imagine this is because of the average  additional time involved, due to the styles. You could have asked the reason? I will ask, next time I'm in there.  Many salons have this differential pricing.
