Hello good folks, we are previewing chunks from our Edinburgh-bound comedy shows


WHO and WHAT?


Charmian Hughes: When Comedy Was Alternative (The Laughs and Loves of a She-Comic)

''One for comedy fans'' (Bruce Dessau)

Juliet Meyers: Through the Pigeonhole

''Excellent'' (Time Out)

Suzy Bennett: Gumption

WHERE?


The Peckham Pelican, 92 Peckham Rd, London SE15 5PY near the fire station


WHEN


MONDAY 27th JULY. Doors 6.30pm. show starts 7.15pm. it won't be a long night. You don't have to stay for all of it.Or if you want to drift in later that is fine. We will be done by 9.45pm.


It will be Suzy Mc followed by Juliet, interval, Suzy and then Charmian,


HOW MUCH?


Amazingly, it's free. we will pass a bucket round at the end for donations. What is important for us is to get an audience and preview the shows, with just a few days to go before we leave for Edinburgh.



the Pelican is lovely, very comfortable with an interesting range of beers. It is opening just for us that night.

    • We did fine for 300 years with the Royal Mail before the current "competitive" shambles was introduced.     • That's certainly the narrative that runs ad infinitum on the Forum but I wonder how true it is. Speaking for myself I'm very happy M&S, Superdrug, Pret and, in the last century, Sainsbury's arrived and judging from the business they do I'm not alone.
    • There are Christmas lights?! Or a, I missing something?
    • Though it's often the big corporates who dig deepest. For small independents that's a bigger ask, decorating, when they do their own premises is cost enough. And we're normally happy not to have the big corporates in LL.
