Afterschool and holiday Childcare Needed

Recommended Posts

We are looking for someone to help look after our two children after school from September and a couple of days a week in the school holidays. The role would involve picking our 8 year old son up from school in East Dulwich and walking him home (20 mins walk) to the Forest Hill Road area or possibly spending some time in the park or library etc on the way. The hours are somewhat flexible but would usually be Mondays to Thursday 3.30 ? 6/7pm.

Our older daughter will make her own way home but will need someone at home from around 4.30/5 to make dinner, help with homework etc. If you were able to stay on for occasional babysitting that would be fantastic.

We are looking for someone who has experience with children, who is warm and fun but firm, and who is able to take them to the park and run around when necessary. In total we need around 10-15 hours of childcare a week, maybe more with babysitting. If you are interested in more of a housekeeper / live-out au pair role we could include some housework in that to increase the hours.

Please PM me if you're interested and we can discuss the details.

    • Ah, thanks,  it all comes flooding back. I've actually been to the Hastings shop, I'd forgotten all about it, along with her name! Didn't she (in between?)  take over what  was then The Magnolia, previously The Magdala, now The Lordship, with her then partner? Or is that some figment of my imagination?  In fact, didn't they transform it from The Magdala (much missed) to The Magnolia? With flowery wallpaper covering the front of the bar? Which reminds me of the pub's brief period after The Magnolia  as the ill-conceived and ill-fated The Patch.

    • A belated recommendation for Iain and Paul od Oddbods who came to help me with various jobs before Christmas.  Painting ceiling, renewing silicone around bath, repairing a window sill which was almost beyond repair and hanging a large mirror.   Very happy with their work and they are friendly and very reliable and excellent at communicating.  No hesitation in recommending them.
