This is probably a total long shot but I wondered if there were any other parents of children with 22q 11.2 deletion syndrome on the forum?? Our baby son was recently diagnosed and I would love to chat to other parents about their experiences. For anyone reading this who hasn't heard of the syndrome - it is the most prevalent after Downs Syndrome and affects up to one in 1,800 babies.

What a worrying time for you. My godson (not local) has 1p36 deletion syndrome. There are some excellent support forums and groups for those with chromosone disorders - I think the ones our friends have found most helpful is unique:

Best of luck - there is support out there, and you'll not be alone.

Thanks for your message Yak. I wish your godson all the best, I just looked up his deletion and there are some similarities. We are extremely lucky that our son is very mildly affected with none of the associated physical health problems or developmental issues that come with his syndrome (currently)! I will definitely check out the website you recommended - thanks.

    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
