Had a "winner" today at Chepstow. First race on BBC, I backed a horse..... dont remember its name but it was a dead heat ... so got half the odds and won some money.

Put most of the winnings on the runner up in the Welsh National... no joy.

Is anyone else going to post on this thread?

30 October

Backed Celtic at 3/1 when 12 points behind - looking good now.

Man United not too shabby either. Backed them at 3.38 on betfair.

You can't keep good teams down.

The Celtic bet is looking good now. Did discuss this with Quids shortly after putting the money on and the potential 10 points on possible administration was a little bonus in my thinking that has materialised. But basically I felt despite the 12 point disadvantage, that Celtic were the better team. So it proved.

Early 2010 post here.

But I have backed Burtonport for Gold Cup and National a few months ago. Not sure why but he is now a considered outsider for both after chasing Long Run home yesterday albeit with 10 lbs help. Have >60-1 on both so look forward to whichever he takes part in.

Went on my Betfiar account to look at the golf odds and found some extra money - I'd forgotten I'd had an EW on a 32 outsider Something Chad on the last day at Cheltenham and it placed :))

Sooooo, going to waste it on golf but no chance to lay as I'm away on an Easter brreak, so.

So standard Each Way bets on Steve stricker - 60s

Watney (38ish)

and Probably and EW lump on Luke Donald as he's consistent enough to be a good shout for a money back via a top 5 place but also reasonable value (or was when I looked) for a win as he's not got a Major yet
