Au contraire. Had a late bet on Ernie at 2.4 as Scott went long in 17. It was a loss overall but only small compared to what it would have been.

Despite feeling that I did not want to see Scott win in a procession, I really felt for him in the end. Tragic failure for such a nice guy.

My Football bets (all for trading). Relegation Stoke (tough start - although Arsenal not helpful) and Villa (well done Irons). Champions Arsenal - stoopid price (25) again for trading. May do a Champions league when the draw is out.

I presume a Rangers/Celtic accy is about 1/5000 on?

Watney's doing rather well.

I backed Rory at 10/1 after -2 yesterday, long way to go. Also did Pettersen (again) but he's put of it already on +2 I'd say.

Have a ?10 on Liverpool to win the Preniership. :) Not sure why. I'm sure I'll back another team too, maybe Chelsea.

    • Really interesting discussion here. It's difficult to respect the views of people who support Farage, Trump, Musk etc. Why should we, when their views are deplorable. But then that exact 'deplorable' label, as we know, is counterproductive and drives people to double down / switch off to more progressive views. How do you actually help change minds? We're currently spiralling into dark places culturally and politically imo. The amount of open racism, even amongst front line politicians here and in the US is astounding to me. Feels like we're going backwards. The influence of social media and the tech billionaires / bros, is a powerful and largely malignant one. There was an enlightening (and frightening) bit of journalism by Sky this week about Musk's influence on British politics. He has a strange obsession with the UK and London in particular (as do many on the US right wing): https://news.sky.com/story/the-x-effect-how-elon-musk-is-boosting-the-british-right-13464487
    • Looking for any tickets to the Dulwich Hamlets game against St Albans today!
    • I'm going to Paris with friends, staying in the 3rd arrondissement. I used to go a lot but that was ages ago so wondered if anyone has any 'insider tips'? We are interested in small art galleries, independent shops, good value cafes and restaurants that may not feature in all the many online articles or guides, thanks!
    • Hi, My two years old nephew is a complete bookworm and we are looking for more books for him. Is anyone selling or giving away any books please?    Thank you.
