ROS now 1/8 on I think. Stephen Hendrey thinks it's as good as over before the final even starts.

Mick Mac takes over as holder of Top Tip....sorry Declan.

I hope some of you took it at 18s which is what it was when my golfer mate passed on the tip. :)

Only went and forgot to pick any horses for yesterday's race, but luckily managed a 25/1 winner with my jockey/trainer...much happier.

Don't forget there's another race today...and that includes you 'Argyle', whoever you are...

So it does. I'm just glad I'm still in the running after missing out on 2 of the 4 races. Somehow my jockey and trainer selections have kept me in with a shout. You must have had the winner of the last race, another big outsider...

No, from the website 'How to play'...

At the end of each Mini Series, you will be able to change your Jockeys and Trainers. Two changes are available in between each Mini Series making eight changes in total during the game

I think the first Mini Series ends at the end of May (last race 31st May), but I'm not 100% certain, just guessing as I haven't seen a definitive list. I'll have another look later...

Interesting stats on the PL season. Lawro did better than the bookies though it was close. If you bet ?1 on the bookies lowest odds for each of the 380 games you would have lost over ?28. They correctly predicted just over 52% of results which means they were wrong with almost half of them. What's the moral of the story?

I would join in if there was something like the Six Nations League. The good thing about the Telegraph is that it takes all the hard work out of the scoring/tables. The deadline for applications is Saturday. I'll post something in the Lions thread and see if it drums up any interest...

I've just set up a Super League, see the Lions thread for details. Argylites very welcome...

    • Wow what a lot of reactionary stuff going on here.  Even by the high bar set by others on the EDF. So let's start with the title.  I thought wrong season for leaves on the pavement.  A bit late for ice, but it can still happen.  We all know about uneven pavements and tree roots.  Oh my word, perhaps Zombie apocalypse or sink holes.  Those damned Lime bikes?  But no, a four year old. The streets are rightly or wrongly full of kids scooting and cycling to schools in the morning.  Would or could a four year old cause a serious injury hitting an adult, perhaps but unlikely.  I'd rather a child on two wheels on the pavement than a car driving them to school. As said we are judging this on the original post.  We were not there.  We can not speculate. How this is victim (were you really a victim?) blaming, I don't know. How my response, similar to the previous two, is revolting, heavens knows. There is a serious conversation to be had about middle class parents.  My they can be annoying. And similarly for teenagers, adults, in particularly illegal ebikes including delivery riders, on the pavements, There are threads on the latter on here already.   But a four year old?  Really?? PS off to watch Newsnight and some more serious matters.
    • I’ve sent you a private message about a sofa for sale : )
    • Seems to be a lot of victim blaming going on here. Clearly a four year old child should not be riding a bike on a pavement out of sight of the adult who is supposed to be caring for him. Also clearly if the child ran into somebody from behind, he is not ready to be riding a bike in a place where people may be walking. Quite apart from the adult who in this case could have been badly hurt, so could the child. I wonder how those people on here asking how it was handled would have reacted if it had been them? All sweetness and light and apologies for having had the temerity to get in the way of the child? I'm pretty sure I would have been extremely shocked and annoyed.
    • Yes, do report it even if you cannot get info about the owner.  It’s likely that the dog has bitten other people (and dogs) already or will go on to do it again. I’ve been bitten by dogs in the past, owned by people I knew and they had bitten previously. One bit my face when I was putting her lead on. She had recently - about a week before - bitten the hand of a vicar who had been to discuss the wedding of the owners’ son.  The son was a doctor and he advised me to go to the hospital to start a new series of tetanus jabs.  I took his advice.  Unusual behaviour by a dog can also indicate health problems.
