spare room in lovely spacious house on Lordship lane

Double room available in really lovely, large, newly refurbished flat on Lordship Lane. The flat is 3-bed with a really big kitchen and living room and a good sized bathroom. Plenty of hall space for bikes, etc.

Sharing with two of us, we have just moved in so there is the chance to all set up house together. I am doing a placement with a climate change charity as part of my PhD and Sarah is a doctor working at Lewisham Hospital. We are both friendly, social, clean types looking for a similar flatmate. We are hoping to have a friendly household with occasional shared meals, film nights, etc, and to have a good balance of socialising and our own space, and having a good time in London but also a considerate house where people are up and off to work early!

We're looking for someone to move in on, or as close to, Saturday 25th as possible. If you might be interested feel free to ring me for a chat (07598018928) or email on [email protected].

We can arrange viewings this weekend

    • Because of the weather which delayed completion with roofer only being able to work certain days, it was up from November - end of January. Went slightly higher than gutters (we also had guttering replaced).
    • It's tough being a courier and the pay which is largely based on the number they deliver is miserable. Hence the staff turnover is high. EFRI was previously branded as HERMES but they had to create a new brand name because of poor performance. We get regular courier deliveries and EVRI are by far the worst. They just drop the parcel at the front door - often without ringing the bell. But worst is when they deliver to the equivalent door number on LL instead of ours on EDG. Best are ParcelForce, DHL and DPD by a wide margin.
    • I know the couple you mean, and she has always been friendly and smiley when delivering to me, but obviously in a hurry, for all the reasons outlined in the thread. My gate is always open, however (unless someone coming to the house closes it when they leave). I can't see the point of gates that have to be opened and shut again every time someone comes to the house. It just seems a waste of time, and it's annoying if you are carrying stuff. And a closed gate  conveys a sort of "my house is my fortress" feel. To me, anyway.
    • Thanks for posting this. Really interesting. It would be good if you added a star rating, so that it was easier to do comparisons / see what your top recommendations are. Great blog though!
