Literary Kitchen Festival 2015 - Kickstarter Campaign

Recommended Posts

About this project

Last year Kickstarter helped us launch and run the very first Literary Kitchen Festival. It was a huge success, hosting 31 events, and showcasing over 100 writers, artists, performers, indy publishers, agents and even a dog! It?s 2015 and we?re back! This year will see over 170 participants perform in 19 venues across one week, 12-18 October.

With Arts Council support we are able to host our very first Writer-in-Residence, Thomas Darby. Thomas invites you to make contact during the week of the festival, to become part of a new work. More information will be available soon on the festival web page and programme.

This year we join forces with Lit Crawl London, to create an epic 15 venue Friday night literary crawl around Peckham. Your funds will help us organise an army of stewards to lead punters from event to event on the night, and stop people from straying off or getting lost and missing out on a choice of 15 FREE events + After Party. We will make High-Vis Literary Kitchen vests, to let Peckham know what is going on.

With your help, we will also collaborate with Writing Maps to make a limited edition Writing Map for Peckham, available free for the week of the festival from The Peckham Pelican. This illustrated map of Rye Lane and Peckham Square will include prompts to get you writing, as well as nuggests of prime info about Peckham poets, bards and playwrights past and present.

The festival includes walks, talks, workshops, readings, performances and the now infamous Agent-Led Dog Walk, with Curtis Brown?s Carrie Kania and her literary sniffer dog Miss Foxy Beckett.

Literary Kitchen Festival develops and champions new writing, harnesses the genius of its community and makes the processes of writing visible and available. If you are a writer, a reader or someone with a passion for the arts, and for Peckham, then this is a festival for you. Please help to put Peckham on the London literary map, and support emerging talent and avant garde approaches and practices.

    • I think you need to get a grip
    • Greg did an amazing job! He built a cabinet in my living room and added shelving. A lovely guy and perfectionist who goes the extra mile. He really understands what you want and comes up with various options to meet your price range. Would highly recommend!
    • I love the fact that virtually everyone held their hands out when furlough payments were made yet can't equate massive debt with massive cash payments to keep the economy ticking over.
    • The problem with delivery people nowadays is that they are on such a restrictive schedule that they literally have to just try to deliver and run, otherwise they are penalised. I understand the frustration though.   And good luck making any kind of complaint to Evri. I once sold a laptop on ebay, took it to the Evri pick-up, where it was processed and it then went 'missing' between their pick-up place and the hub. Went through a long, long process where they offered me a desultory amount in compensation and I had to take them to small claims court before they came up with a fair offer the day before we were due to be in court. Long story short, Evri are shite.   Go to look at this forum for the number of people who have issues: https://nationalconsumerservice.co.uk/forum/183-postal-and-delivery-services/
