Hello

We moved from ED to East Devon last year and we are looking for someone to house/ dog and cat sit for a couple of weeks while we are away on holiday 20 October - 4 November.

We have a beautiful house in the county with lots of space both inside (play room filled with toys, crafts, arts bits, games etc) and outside (three acres of garden, fields - play area, trampoline, football post, pop up tennis field, etc)

There are plenty of places to explore, either from the house - beautiful walks and bike rides; or by car along the coast (Lyme Regis and Charmouth - both on the Jurassic coast are ten mins away) and on the surrounding hills.

Some interesting market towns are also nearby Axminster (10 mins), Bridport (20 mins) with its West Bay beach - otherwise known these days as Broadchurch where the series was filmed. Exeter is also 40 mins away either by train or car. Bath and Frome not far.

Anyway, you won't get bored.

Our main concern is our little puppy. When I say little I don't mean that literally. She is a five month Doberman so quite large already. She is very well behaved (both with adults and children - we have a 3 and a 6 year old who pull her ears, put necklaces on her and sleep curled up with her). She sleeps through the night (9 hours) and is very soppy. However she is still a puppy so full of energetic and very curious and needs two good walks a day (at the very least 40 minutes). This is actually easier than it sounds as there is lots of beautiful walking to do around here!

If you fancy a break from London please get in touch so I can send you more infos and photos.

Thank you

    • I would leave London, or at a push move back to north London. In SE London if you want to get away in a car you are trapped, always an hour to go the first 10 miles, chugging up to the M4 or round the south circular, which is really just a line someone drew connecting a load of roads. and I know there are trains but first you have to get to those mainline stations, unless you only want to leave London to go to Kent. which I don't.
    • It was you who  made it personal in the first place,  Jazzer. You said you didn't feel safe in the streets,  and you said you didn't go to Central London because you didn't feel safe there. So are you now saying that wasn't "personal"? "Fire from the hip." Another interesting choice of words 🙄 I'm not "demanding" anything! I asked you some perfectly reasonable questions in  response to your own statements. None of which you have answered. Never mind. It seems to be pointless having a discussion with you. It's long past my bedtime. I'm going to turn on my sleep app  and go to sleep 😴💤
    • Hi Forumites, This afternoon someone in a dark blue/black saloon car collided with my parked car on Thompson Road, SE22 9JR. I have a neighbour’s doorbell cam footage of the collision at 14:30 19/09/2025 but am unable to identify the registration plate. If anyone has footage of a car travelling down Thompson Road towards Crystal Palace Road at that time please PM me. Of course if the Perp would like to confess they can also PM me. Thankyou.
    • Fireworks again tonight, Melbourne Grove North LTN area.
