Charter School & Herne Hill Music Festival opera funder in last days

Recommended Posts

The HHMF is working with schools, and also amateur and pro musicians to put on its 2nd community opera The Peasant's Opera (based on the 1381 Peasant's Revolt) after a successful Noyes Fludde (Britten) last year. This opera is an original written locally for the occasion and will be performed at the Charter School in Red Post Hill on October 14th. Dulwich Community Council has provided partial funding and the Festival is down to a final 4 days with its crowdfunder to try and make up shortfall and is well off target. Some of the high cost is due to need for the few professionals to assist - but this will also help make for a wonderful performance while pupils get a lot of great experience working with them. Please help if you can, even if just to spread the word? • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
