Sorry, I was being a bit sarcastic about the monolithic new kerbstones they've installed at North Cross road and the Townley Rd / East Duwich Grove junction.

I don't understand why they need to be so huge but at North X it maybe to do with containing gigantic ramp they've built.

But cheapness isn't everything.

Was that the only criterion the council used in deciding to award Conway the contract, then? Price?

Because that seems a rather short-term approach. I once worked somewhere which did that. They had windows fitted by the cheapest quoting contractor. The windows had to be replaced within a relatively short time. It would have been cheaper to pay more for higher standards in the first place.

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
