My wonderful English nanny is looking for a new role

Recommended Posts

My two year old son will be starting at the Villa in a month or so and his wonderful nanny, Harriet, will need a new role.

Harriet has been with us for over a year. She has become a part of the family and we will be so sorry not to see her every day. She is looking for a role to start in October/November 4-5 full days a week.

Harrie is a mature and confident nanny with a loving nature and a good sense of humour. She grew up in South London and knows the area - and she is a career nanny. She has invested time to acquire qualifications that demonstrate this, something that impressed me from the start.

Harrie always set clear boundaries for my son, which has been reassuring for him and for me. I have particularly valued variety of activities she arranges. We have had one 'organised' class each term and otherwise, Harrie always comes up with a variety of things to do, in and out of the house:

- Various local parks, playgroups, museums, and libraries

- Cooking or reading at home

- Visiting other children for play dates and meals

- Drawing, painting, stickers, songs ...

They also occasionally go in to the museums in South Kensington or the aquarium. In addition, Harrie has a network of other nannies so there are lots of other children with whom to play and socialise if that works for your family.

In addition to all these wonderful personal attributes qualities, Harrie also has the essential qualities of a good nanny:

- She can and does cook a variety of food, combining fresh fruit and vegetables with things like pasta sauces that she freezes in advance. Harrie encourages my son to always try everything and he eats very well

- She has a good vocabulary and grammar, and has encouraged my son to develop his speech. Harrie is always well presented but this doesn't stop her being happy to crawl around the floor with babies and toddlers

- She knows the local area well, and the surrounding ones.

- She is happy to help out with household tasks when she has a spare moment - without being asked - and she keeps the playroom, kitchen etc clean and tidy

Most importantly, Harrie is a kind, caring and responsible person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and helping them develop. She has been a wonderful part of our family and we hope to continue to see her often.

Please PM me if you'd like Harrie's contact details

Hi, I'm Cristina, I'm from Spain and I'm 23 years old. I'm actually looking for a job as nanny.

I'm already living in London since one week.

A year ago I finished the Degree of Pre-school Teaching and I?m currently studying for the public examinations in Spain, to work as a pre-school teacher or and English teacher. Also I have a certificate in English (First Certificate of Cambridge) and I?m actually studying to get the Advanced Certificate in English.

I was a year between Bradford (England) and Edinburgh (Scotland), studying and performing my placement with young children in different nursery schools.

I have also studied music; I studied piano for five years.

As for my personality, I consider myself a very responsible, orderly, active, outgoing, caring and dynamic person. I like quiet environments, interact with people, enjoy cooking, healthy food, sports, cinema, nature and music. I am not a smoker.

Looking forward to hear from you!

    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
    • I keep my promises...had the Sweet & Sour Chicken.  It was great - the best sweet and sour dish I've ever had. The chicken itself was good and the sauce seemed home made with real vegetables and pineapple - it is NOT the red sugar sauce goo you get elsewhere.  The Korean fried chicken was very good but the sweet chili sauce was much more chili than sweet - just far too spicy for me. There is a honey something sauce that I will get next time. Egg fried veggie rice was good as a side.  We also ordered the chicken katsu curry which was polished off so quickly I didn't get to taste it. It looked very good tho. SD is not like Magic Wok used to be - cheap and filling but junk food. (Don't get me wrong - I went often to Magic Wok). SD's food is much higher quality, real ingredients, chunky portions, freshly prepared. I'll be back, for sure.
    • I saw these pair of ducks opposite Peckham rye today not quite sure what breed they are as I've never seen ones like them before
