I was referring to the car park. It is not used.

jlee said - "any public or private space which is used and adore by the community should not come under the developers wrecking ball". I don't I misinterpreted anything! The car park is not used (in fact it is semi-derelict), so it will be nice to see it put to good use.

But while studios and workshops are all well and good.. nashoi's idea is even better.

Google will not allow me to view the 2 youtube vids. for some reason.

I get a message about Data Protection..

Louisa and myself do not live in each others pockets.. We have never met and have many opposing views on some subjects.

However E.D. Circa 1983 sounds wonderful.

Sadly those days have long gone and the likes of which will never be seen in these parts again.

I speak to a lot people who were around here at that time and many agree that most changes have not been for the better.

jeremy you are wrong the car park is used and for parking in the middle of peckham its quite reasonably priced, just because you hate it doesn't mean others do to. ive noticed throughout this thread the many comments you've posted which appear somewhat aggressive towards anyone wishing to defend the car park, i think you should respect other peoples opinions even when they do not match your own.

I feel for you Foxy mate, but what are you going to do about it ?

ETA: Let's say you figured ot in 1993 (after 10 years) that "things just ain't no good no more". What have you been doing the subsequent 23 years, just complaining about it ? Surely there's other places you could move to with the same old charm you say ED had then ? Just sounds like you don't like it here in ED so you need to be elsewhere.

Dare I ask what changes have not been for the better? I've lived here since the mid 80's when it was a fairly characterless place. It's improved a lot.

Well a few years back I was planning to move to Turkey... The current political situation makes that undesirable.

Having Turkey in the E.U. would of made that easier.. but now I will be voting for the UK to leave..

So probably moving somewhere.. out of East Dulwich.. would be desirable .. Who knows.. South Wales ??

That would go down well .. A Millwall supporter living in South Wales.. lol

    • Is there anyone who does face painting who would be available to come to a children’s party next Sunday 25 May from 11-12ish? It’s a Frozen theme- about 10 kids or so. Please get in touch with more details and an idea of price if so. Many thanks
    • Nope that concern predates the Jerk festival.  But I am talking about when I first moved to SE London and some locals complained that the nice music was too loud. Separately some people are still moaning about the Jerk festival,  Felt some comments were (casual) racist, but that is a different subject matter. That day was great,  A victim of its own success. A kin to Fatboy Slim playing a free festival on Brighton beach, tens of thousands went but it took a long long time to clean up.
