What's the deal with the empty shop next door to William Rose butchers?

Does anyone know why the shop next door to William Rose butchers has stood empty for so many years?

It is a beautiful facade, and I would love to get my hands on it!

Yep, turn of this year. Not sure if anything has changed since then mind you

The front itself (including the windows and curtains) really reminds me of my hometown in Ireland - the main shopping street had a few places like that.

And a few open shops which looked like that come to think of it...

Cityjules I think you should probably click on Sean's link and read the whole of the thread.

It'll tell you that she protects her anonymity fiercely, and there's been any number of approaches regarding her shop that have made her increasingly irate.

You can of course do a search on the owner details through the land registry.

Yes apparently a little old lady has lived there for over 60 years. I know you're just enquiring but I think it would be a shame to enquire further into the place she has called home for many years.

I am merely interested in a beautiful shop that has been empty since I moved in four years ago.

I am sure the lady has reasons for not wanting to sell, which I utterly respect.

As I walked to William Rose today the shop door was open and workmen were inside - looked to be clearing out in preparation for dec oration / development.

I think they are probably still clearing out the building after the fire in January. I live over the road, and very little seems to have happened to the entire building since then
