Parking bay next to main gates on College Road

Has anyone been caught out by the new zig zag lines (ie no parking) in what used to be a parking bay by the main gates of Dulwich park on College Road? I'm sure this has been a legal parking bay for decades up until the road works on College road this summer. There is no obvious reason for having a restriction here as it doesn't affect traffic flow or pedestrians crossing before it. In a road where other parking spaces do impact on traffic flow and with the park now being very busy and spaces limited, it is a shame to lose such a valuable space. I am convinced that the zig-zag lines were painted in error when the road was re-marked after road works this year.
