Unfortunate in some cases, I like to look for the best in people before getting, it this case, nastily sceptical. I won't apologize for that. Obviously I haven't been around these forums long enough to witness this... & why on earth would someone go through the trouble of saying such things?

Sadly I missed the good stuff. I don't know what was said for the thread to be closed...

It is becoming a bit of a vicious circle though - occasional (and regular) posters form a view that the EDF is made of cliquey/racist/homophobic/sexist/posh/middle-class/nimbys*, so they post stupid things to try and get a rise out of people, which means that vaguely dodgy threads do get jumped on by regulars, which leads to certain people forming a view...and so on.

I came across a thread on another localish forum last year where someone had posted extracts from one of the more infamous lounge threads. Taken out of context it looked pretty bad, and several people on that board reported back they had signed up to stir the pot here.

Not sure there's much we can do about it, but it does seem to be happening with increasing regularity.

All "Fishermen" enjoy a good "haul".

I remember at Grammar School some Guys would stand in Brixton Road and point to the top of the building, sometimes creating a local stir. Once the crowd gathered to significant proportions the instigators would slip away leaving a motley group of strangers pointing, trying to establish what they were supposed to be looking for...;-)

Now that I do like !

Perhaps it gives the fakers some sense of meaning int their tiny pathetic little lives, hunched all sweaty over the rigs, grinding themselves furiously at the thought of conning some uppity middle class dulite with one keyboard while gaining palpitations as they post lengthy reviews on some niche site about their latest motherboard upgrade (most of us have barely touched upon 1% of the Internet I seem to recall being told) on the other keyboard.

It doubtless makes up for the lack of interaction in the real world where they would die for a smile from the pretty Bulgarian shop girl at their local shop as they buy pepperami and the latest copies of Wired and Edge (they'd never dare add to their stack of porn while she's working of course).

Of course what would I know, I'm doubtless utterly an inferior intellect, I don't even speak a word of Klingon.

??Extradite the lot of them to the Guantanamo I say!!

Hahaha! :))

I found the whole Brothel situation far more frustrating & not in the slightest entertaining, so I can't really see where this lewishamMan (? whatever) was going with this...

Any connection between these any events and the recent reemergence of allfornun perchance?

As for brothels, many years ago I read electricity meters for a living and found myself in one at Vauxhall Station, masquerading as a reflexology, reiki, legit massage place.

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
