I would be quite happy with my current provider O2, were it not for the fact that in my home close to Goose Green roundabout, I get such a weak signal that I usually have to go outside to make a call. Can anyone recommend provider who might have better coverage in this area?

Apologies if this has been recently covered in another thread, to which I would be happy to be signposted.

The only reliable way is to get a free PAYG sim from each of the other providers and see what the signal is like in your house. It's that variable and no website will give you 100% accurate data for your particular hosue.

Or use TuGo as others suggest.

I did try TuGo, but found it didn't work very well. Sometimes, it didn't respond when there was an incoming call, which meant that I couldn't answer. And when I called out the quality was very poor.

But thanks for the suggestion of getting a PAYG sim. I had thought of this, but hoped to narrow it down before I went through the hassle of getting hold of them. I assume you can pick them up for nothing, these days?

Are you on a 3G or a 4G phone? I found upgrading my phone to 4G had a massive improved impact on signal quality at the other end of Lordship Lane. I believe this is because all the networks are focused on upgrading/improving 4G coverage at the expense of 3G, but if you're on a 3G only phone it might be worth considering.
There's not enough masts to cope. Everybody keeps screaming out "I don't want a mast in my road"etc but then cry when they can't get a signal. Well, there is limited capacity the masts can deal with. I use TuGo at home, technically it's supposed to use your WiFi and not masts, many times I'll get a voicemail pop up and missed call even though the phone is with me all the time and has never actually rang-nothing is perfect in these days of modern technology.

    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.

    • Ugly...maybe..does it bother me..NO! I think its somehow reassuring to see theres still phoneboxes around. East Dulwich may  be getrified but there may well be some elderly people who don't have mobiles and kids who may have lost theirs adults ditto etc etc. I'd rather keep it than lose it...just because i don't use it does'nt mean its not needed.  there are many eyesores in the modern world not all of them as potentially useful.
    • I strongly recommend Balayage salon in Lordship lane as everytime I visit, they make me feel very spicial with thier profisionalism and care.   I have been going there for the last 10 years maybe more, and will never exchange them for any other. They are profisional, welcoming and they also always have an offer. I feel like a new woman every time. X
