Not being funny, but is it still working?

Because this forum now has over 101 pages of posts from disgruntled people (including myself) who once had a Canon printer which suddenly failed out of the blue with the same error message. Canon has lost a class action in the States relating to this.

It's appalling, isn't it. My printer was a really expensive model, and not only did I lose the printer but a load of ink cartridges I bought in bulk which were useless in another printer.

Luckily my daughter has the same printer and hers is (for now) still working, so she took the ink cartridges (and my printer for spares).

I've now got an Epson. I'm never buying anything Canon ever again. I have Canon cameras and I wish I didn't :(

I can't believe Canon's attitude. There is clearly some kind of inbuilt fault. I imagine the posts on that forum are the tip of the iceberg. I only found it by googling the error message I got.

    • WoW Sue, all guns blazing.
    • So you don't feel safe in London, but you don't want to live elsewhere? What do you do, barricade yourself in your home and never venture out? I have my eyes (sic)  open. Yes there is crime in London. That doesn't make London "lawless".
    • Well good for you, I don't feel safe. And saying why don't I go and live somewhere else is crass.  Yes London is lawless, open your eys and see the reality.
    • Also, as discussed on another thread, that particular  assailant was possibly (we don't know)  mentally ill. Whereas I'm guessing most crimes locally are   committed for money, (ie things that can be sold, or in hopes of insurance money), food (if someone is really desperate, or to sell) or just pure mischief (like the recent goings on on Peckham Rye). I'm a 76 year old woman, and I feel safe on the streets, and I frequently go to Central London. If you seriously don't feel safe living here, why on earth don't you go and live somewhere else?! It's absolute nonsense to say London is lawless, and it's absolute nonsense to say the police stand by and do nothing. There will always be crime. It used to be cutpurses and highwaymen. And organised gangs of thieves. And people like Jack the Ripper.
