The seller hasn't been named on here, and it isn't clear that it was a genuine misunderstanding, given the contents of the OP.
Maybe it should be left as a warning to others to try things out before you take them home. Or indeed before you sell them.
If something seems wrong, it probably is. It shouldn't have taken a public post to resolve things .
Also, if the laptop actually belongs to a company, it wasn't the seller's to sell, regardless of how he obtained it.
