Belle
I think my baby's trying to crawl...but guess it might take him ages to get there (not in a hurry - it's hard enough as it is, without having to watch him every minute!). But anyway, those whose babies have reached this point, does this sound familiar? He props himself up with his hands - kind of rearing up - and also pushes up onto his knees. Separately, he does a lurchy thing - often ends up several feet away from where he's put, not just by rolling, but we're not quite sure how! This morning he got to the top of the cot, and was playing with the soft toys there. I know all babes are different etc, but guess I just wondered if all babies do this at this stage (6.5mths) and it doesn't necessarily mean crawling is around the corner? Mellors
Sounds like he is definitely ready to start exploring. In my experience they all do it in their own way/time though. No 1 son roled everwhere (the freak!) until he was about 18 months old then one day he stood up and walked. No 2 did what your boy is doing and then went onto proper crawling by about 8/9 months. Shes nearly one and cruising round the furniture, but no sign of steps.Time to get eyes in the back of your head!
