Pashley Provence ladies' bike

Mrs R has had this bike for a couple of years for local pottering but now has a new lighter bike. This Pashley Provence is therefore looking for a new home.

It's a sturdy steel machine with a 5 speed internal hub gear and hub brakes, so very low maintenance - all I've had to do is a slight tweak of the gear cable tension and pumping up the giant tyres. It's had very little wear and tear - just a few superficial scrapes resulting from an overcrowded shed. The mudguards are all metal and have survived far better than any standard plastic ones would have done, and the paintwork all over has a lovely rich burgundy lustre. Full working order.

Ideal for a short commute or as a utility bike.

The effective top tube length is 54cm and the seat tube is 47cm. It's set up for a 5'7" rider as shown. The saddle shown here is actually not included as it has been transferred to the new bike. I can supply a basic wide but slightly scruffy saddle or, for a bit extra, a lovely Brooks B 17 leather saddle in gorgeous honey colour with hammered copper rivets.

    • We just had to have a fair bit of roofing done, along with new guttering and facia replacement (swapping out wooden for pvc) Also chimneys needed repointing & had problems with a large roof light. we didn’t know why we had damp in certain parts of the living room & turns out water was getting in via damaged chimneys. we ended up using vintage roofing and building ltd, & have to say they did a great job, scaffolding went up and work started straight away, they were pleasant & respectful of our property, & tidy. they showed us videos of the damage before starting work, & of the work after it was completed. And we have a 20 year guarantee. We live in a Victorian semi  happy to PM you how much it cost us
    • I’ve been hearing a beeping sound that goes off every 45 - 60 secs 24 hours a day for a few weeks and can’t work out where it’s coming from. You can hear it all the way down the road and I can hear it when I’m at home and it’s starting to drive me a bit crazy, so would love to figure out what it is.    Anyone else noticed it?
    • I wonder if  kings might be able to recommend a translator.
