I have an amazing Downtown Abbey Antique Table for sale C1890. It has extendable leaves of which there are two still with the original iron crank, it is carved and increadibly well built, it also has six maghoney chairs to go with these are in perfect condition, sadly we cannot find space for this family heirloom I am looking for ?1000 for everything.   That's simply not true. In New York, famously they introduced a zero tolerance policy and substantially decreased the incidence of crime. I remember a time when the UK police used to make arrests of shoplifters, even attend reports of such crime. Now they don't. 30 years ago the police used to respond to reports of burglaries. Now they just issue a crime number for the insurance. Indeed virtually the only crimes it seems regularly responded to are thought crimes nowadays, which very much are the remit otherwise of totalitarian police states.
