HI All,

Please come and see the new show I am producing called "Crushed Shells and Mud" at Southwark Playhouse. The play has been written by Ben Musgrave, who won the inaugural Bruntwood Prize for his play "Pretend You Have Big Buildings". We have an extraordinary cast led by Alex Lawther, who played the Young Alan Turing in hit film "The Imitation Game." Alex won "Young British Performer of the Year," for his portrayal of Turing at the London Critics' Circle Awards. Joining him is Alexander Arnold, best known for playing Rich Hardbeck in "Skins" and most recently Jim Carter in "Poldark."

Dates: Thursday 1st October - 24th October.

Tickets: http://southwarkplayhouse.co.uk/the-little/crushed-shells-and-mud/

Suitable: 14+

She came out of the sea

Crawled out of the mud, quietly

Shy and beautiful, brushing off sand and shells

England trembles in the grip of a devastating epidemic.

But in a brutally remote coastal village, quiet Derek waits for love and life to really begin.

Then Lydia arrives. She burns brightly ? incandescently. Beyond Derek?s wildest dreams.

And she is hiding something.

When Derek discovers her secret ? out by a restless sea, they are both propelled into a strange new world of conflicted desire and dangerous loyalties. Where terrifying forces test their courage and humanity.

But can love survive the fear inside?

Best wishes

Caitlin

    • There's been a pub/inn (The Green Man) on that site for hundreds of years. Shown on Rocques map 1746. A mixed redevelopment pub/affordable residential/commercial maybe some lower cost offices/studios would help refresh this area. Skatepark must stay surely.  Looks a lot of fun. and much needed on the area. There has to be a pub of some sort.  The rationalisation of the pedestrian crossing is long overdue (it used to be a Zebra crossing years ago) and much welcomed. Hopefully this could encourage greater use of Cox's Walk and the woods. If we had somewhere to eat and drink at the end of a walk through the woods. Or for those old enough who have used the skatepark, it could be an attraction again. The Dulwich Estate need to get off their obsession with corporate tenants (although to be fair they have allowed some independent commercial tenants into some of the smaller premises) and get a smaller, more agile, pub operator in there.
