Teapot12
Rare C.1900's solid oak Globe Wernicke desk, originally bought by my great-aunt.Dimensions 111h x 50d x 87wOriginal blotter replaced and there are a couple ink stains on the inside as well as a few chips on the front right of the desk top. The front legs have come away into two pieces but could easily be stuck back in place (as shown in the photo) once in situ. It remains a beautiful piece of furniture however - in professionally refurbed condition you'd pay at least ?1200Original handles and knobs. The lower storage section retains the patent scissor action mechanism, and there are two drawers, one lockable with the same key as for the top desk. it also has other insert options for dividing up the interior of the desk (pigeon holes)http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/yy6/Julia_Manning/32188c21-043e-4a06-8abd-857655a6fcb6_zpsr8pm3zts.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/yy6/Julia_Manning/20150919_190707_zpsrecojqp0.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/yy6/Julia_Manning/20150919_190420_zpsvgc9tay0.jpg Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/76541-antique-globe-wernicke-solid-oak-barrister-desk-750/ Share on other sites
