It is always a great pleasure to welcome local band John McClean and The Clan to the Goose, and tonight they are very deservedly headlining at The Ivy House. The excellent Ben Holland will be supporting tonight.

John has a reputation which extends well beyond South London and the UK, and if you like folk, blues and soul you will love this.

John was born in Wellington, New Zealand. He formed his first band in 1976 and has worked on many musical projects since, eventually travelling to the UK with the "Early Days Blues Band" in 1998.

Currently based in South London and performing around the UK, "John McClean and The Clan" are: His son Ben on drums, his wife Jennie and Ben's partner Steph on BVs, with Big Al on guitar and Liberty from Burundi on bass (almost a family band).

"The magical blend of mighty vocals, solid grooves and lively energy, will raise the hair on the back of your neck" Swanage Blues Festival

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
