Hi,

Simon Hughes MP, the Liberal Democrat environment spokesman and MP for Bermondsey, will be speaking at Frank's Caf? and Campari Bar on top of Rye Lane's multi-story car park on Sunday 6th September at 6 in the evening.

He'll be talking on the environment and the lib dems' green policies, the regeneration of Peckham and Southwark, and taking questions from people.

If you haven't already been to Frank's Caf?, this is the ideal opportunity to check out this unique venue before it closes the following week until next year! The caf? and the Hannah Barry gallery's exhibition are a great example of the potential of Peckham, and of the young, vibrant and inventive crowd our area can attract. They have brought people to Peckham from all across London, many of which for the first time.

Hope to see you there!

If no-one's responding Laurie, it's because interest is low.

In that case what you're doing is simply spamming the forum.

It pushes high-interest items down the page and as a result sours the forum experience for everyone.

As a prospective council candidate I'm sure you don't want to develop a reputation for riding roughshod over the needs and interests of you constituency, so best drop the bumping ;-)

Best of luck, of course.

Wow, I'm glad I gave up when I did.. Bit of a disappointing show for an event pushed so enthusiastically on this forum! ;-) Sadly, my doubts about the Lib Dems' electability must instead remain.

    • Franklins is lovely but it usually only has one veggie option, so if your vegetarian doesn't like it they might  find it hard to find something else. So it might be worth checking out in advance what's on the menu on the night you want to book. Maria's is also lovely, but it's very small. I didn't think they had a table large enough for 8, but reading the above I'm obviously wrong!
    • We live in East Dulwich and often to go Rye Lane. I know people say there are good restaurants near Rye Lane.  Does anyone have recommendations for good places for lunch or dinner?  We like Manze for pie & mash at lunch. And I've been to Peckham Bazaar in the past, which was excellent.  Thanks!
    • My husband is currently a full-time carer for our two disabled children, and he’s keen to get back into paid work where he can fit it around our family needs. He’s immediately available and looking for local handyman work — from snagging and DIY jobs to gardening or general fixing-up. He’s capable, practical, and reliable, with plenty of hands-on experience restoring and maintaining, including with heritage/listed properties. If you have a to-do list you never quite get to, or need help with those annoying finishing touches, he’d be happy to help. Please drop him a message if you’d like to chat or check availability. 07968345884
