Reminder: Mobile Recycling Centre @ Sainsbury's Dog Kennel Hill today!

Recommended Posts

Every first Wednesday from October to December, the Mobile Recycling Centre will be parked up outside Sainsbury's Dog Kennel Hill between 10am and 1pm:

Wed 7 October

Wed 4 November

Wed 2 December

The Mobile Recycling Centre is a service, funded by the London Waste and Recycling Board, to make it easier for residents to recycle materials that cannot be collected as part of a normal household recycling collection and accepts the following items:

Textiles and shoes

Small electrical appliances

Wood and timber

Metal

Cardboard

CDs/DVDs

Printer cartridges

Batteries

Lightbulbs of any kind

These items are then brought to Southwark's Integrated Waste Management Facility where they are then sent to reprocessors for recycling.

It also dispenses biodegradable garden waste sacks, clear recycling sacks and sells subsidised compost bins and soil conditioner.

The Mobile Recycling Centre does not accept household recycling or general waste.

Thanks ,that's really helpful .

On the subject of recycling ,I know this would cost money and it's a time of cutbacks but I'd love some stickers to put on my recycling bin ( shared with another flat ) to remind us all that plastic bags and polystyrene packaging should go in household refuse not recycling .

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
